Jacob Carr
Hi everyone, I’m Jacob Carr a director at Connectivity I.T. Like a lot of people my passion for I.T began with First Person Shooter computer games on an Intel 368 with TURBO MODE. My interest with all things computer and network related grew through my High School years. After completing High School I differed a Bachelor of Networking to study at Box Hill Institute completing a Diploma of Computer Systems in 2002.
I was lucky enough to receive the Cisco Systems Andrew Jackson memorial scholarship. This was an amazing honour which gave me a leg up in the I.T industry. As part of the scholarship i travelled to San Diego CA to attend the Cisco Networks conference and I also completed 2 weeks of work experience with Cisco Systems in Melbourne.
After completing my Diploma of Computer Systems and CCNA I worked as a Network Technician for Schools. I rapidly built my skills by managing and deploying Networks. Learning to utilise tools for rapid deployment of desktops and mastering the art of Group Policy ensured robust and reliable network systems for the end user.
After 2 years I started my own business and quickly discovered it was impossible to know and do everything that was needed to offer the best level of service to my customers. So I joined forces with long-time friend Tom Berryman. With the creation of Connectivity I.T we were as individuals were given the time to focus on our areas of expertise. Tom brings solid networking and server skills and excels in deploying large scale fault tolerant networks.
As we grow as a company I will continue to find and develop solutions for business to help them implement efficient processes driven by technology. I will never lose sight of the end user because without them there is no purpose or satisfaction in I.T.
