New Support Platform

by [Profile] | Tuesday, April 24th, 2012

On Tuesday May 1, we will launch our new support platform.

The new platform will enable us to further reduce our support times and improve our communications. One of the new features will enable clients (you) to directly log into our HelpDesk and access your support cases. Ultimately this will enable you to make support requests and requests for escalation as well as view your invoices and monthly statements.

We are all very excited about launching this platform and looking forward to the improvements we can bring to you.

Scehduled Outage

by [Profile] | Thursday, April 5th, 2012

Date: 6/4/2012
Window: 10am to 10pm
Duration: Potential 5 minute interruptions at multiple times during the window.
Affects: All services.

Connectivity I.T. will be conducting maintenance on our power supply to our data centre. Core infrastructure has dual feed power so will likely not be affected however many services will be as their hardware is migrated to the new UPS system and generator backup feed.

The long-term benefits of this will put our data centre into world-class standards. All services will be able to remain online without any power grid feed and be unaffected by fibre optic failures.

Unscheduled Outage

by [Profile] | Friday, March 23rd, 2012

Today, 23-03-2012, between approximately 1.25pm and 2.10pm our Phoenix Street facility experienced an unscheduled outage due to a prolonged power failure. The failure was caused by the extreme weather South East Victoria experienced today.

This interruption to service is unfortunate as it fell mid way through our power delivery systems upgrade.

All services were restored by 2.30pm today and we apologize for any inconvenience.

ISP Dodo admits fault in internet outage yesterday

by [Profile] | Friday, February 24th, 2012

Sourced from theage.com.au (http://www.theage.com.au/technology/technology-news/dodo-takes-blame-for-internet-outage-affecting-millions-20120223-1tpqq.html) Dodo has confirmed its role in causing issues with core network infrastructure yesterday.

It is likely many factors are at play however what we can confirm is that international traffic was being routed through the Dodo network and obviously this was not intended behavior.

The actual affect was widespread across Telstra transit services and Connectivity I.T.’s access was affected also. Despite many paths to the internet this issue affected failover mechanisms.

Internet Issues

by [Profile] | Thursday, February 23rd, 2012

Today (23/2/2012) at approximately 14:00 through 14:40 it appears that Telstra suffered a core network failure in Melbourne. At this stage this information is unconfirmed however it is concurrent with the data and monitoring we do have available. At present (17:00) all systems appear to have returned to normal for some time now.
